Moth Trap

The Bucket Funnel Moth Trap is a professional-grade monitoring solution designed to detect and monitor stored product moth activity in commercial and domestic environments. Using species-specific pheromone lures, this trap attracts male moths and captures them within a high-capacity container, helping pest control professionals identify infestations early and take targeted action. Pheromone inserts are required for use and are sold separately.

Designed for performance in demanding environments, the funnel trap allows moths to enter through the top canopy before dropping into the collection bucket, where they are unlikely to escape once inside. Unlike traditional glue boards, this system offers a much higher catch capacity, making it ideal for warehouses, food storage areas, lofts, and large-scale pest monitoring programmes.

The trap is easy to install and can be suspended at the correct height for optimal performance. Its durable construction ensures reliable use in indoor and sheltered outdoor environments. When paired with the correct pheromone lure (sold separately), it provides accurate monitoring data, helping to locate infestation sources and support effective pest management strategies.

This funnel trap is best used as part of an integrated pest management (IPM) approach. By tracking moth activity over time, users can pinpoint problem areas, reduce infestation risk, and maintain high hygiene and compliance standards in sensitive environments such as food production and storage facilities.

HOW TO USE - Using the Bucket Funnel Moth Trap correctly ensures accurate monitoring and effective results. Insert the correct species-specific pheromone lure into the holder beneath the lid, then hang or position the trap at approximately 1.5–2 metres height, ideally near walls, racking, or known problem areas. Avoid placing the trap in direct sunlight or areas with strong airflow such as doorways or vents, as this can reduce effectiveness. For added retention, a small amount of water with a drop of detergent or light oil can be added to the collection bucket if required. The trap should be checked every 2–4 weeks, with catch levels recorded to monitor activity and identify trends. Pheromone lures should be replaced every 3 months to maintain effectiveness. For best results, use multiple traps across larger areas to identify infestation hotspots and support a targeted pest control programme.
